Today on my way to office I stopped at Shell gas station, between Teen Talwar and Shaun Circle underpass, to fill my gas tank. It was unusual for me to stop there because I prefer to fill my gas tanks from stations associated with Pakistani companies like PSO or Parco.

But today’s incident has changed my mind. I was very surprised to see that that gas station is selling CNG at official government rate i.e. PKR 43.85. When I inquired why they are selling CNG at this rate, the cashier answered me, “Company has asked us to sell CNG at official government rates “. I said, “Then why are other stations selling at different rate?” he smiled and replied “Woh to badmashi hai”.

I don’t know whether all Shell stations are selling CNG at official governement rate or not?

Meteorological department Friday predicted a cyclone in Arabian Sea will hit Pakistan’s coast by Sunday night.

Meteorologist Shaukat Awan told the state-run PTV television that high waves accompanied by heavy rains were likely to inundate low-lying areas in the Badin, Thatta and Thar coastal districts east of the port of Karachi.

The storm caution was announced at the Karachi Fish Harbor, Ibrahim Hyderi and other fishermen settlements along the Karachi coast.

Hay don’t worry its not a primary class essay, I just wanted to share my experience of today’s rain.

The rain, which started here Wednesday night, continued intermittently till Thursday evening as rain’s heavy spell had begun after 4:30 p.m. Karachi busiest business roads like MA Jinnah road and I I Chundrigar road faced a massive distruption of traffic as many cars were stuck in inundated water. Situation here at Shahra-e-Faisal is not different than other main roads in Karachi. I am along with my colleagues stucked in the office as one of the worst traffic jams is infront of me. Lets camp in the office for today.

I have never seen such downpour in my life before in Karachi. It was such an exciting moment that I am lost for words to express it. Yahoo forecast says that heavy thunderstorms and rain will strike Karachi in coming couple of days.
