Remembering October 8th 2005 Tragedy
October 8th 2005 was the sadest and most destructive day in the history of Pakistan. This was the day when Pakistan northern part and Kashmir was struck by the deadliest earthquake of magnitude 7.6 on Richter scale. Killing thousands of people, devastating houses and infrastructure and blocking the routes to the perished people.
A year after last October’s massive earthquake situation in the affected areas is similar to what it was year ago. People are still living in tents and temporary shelters. Why people have forgotten them? Why government has turned blind eye to their problems. There are some serious businesses to do rather than writing books.
The brave people of northern areas and Kashmir have elevated them selves and started their new lives towards prosperity but they still need support. This was the tragedy that will not be forgotten in decades. We all need to play some part in their progress and lets get all togather remember the tragedy and try to help them in any manner possible.
