One of my friend sent me an email with subject “Top 10 Excuses Made by Programmers”, I think you might have received such mails or read on some blog or any where on the internet, but I feel its worth sharing. 9. “It must be a hardware problem.”

8. “Somebody must have changed my code.”

7. “Did you check for a virus on your system?”

6. “You must have the wrong version.”

5. “That’s weird…”

4. “There must be something wrong with your data”

3. “It’s never done that before.”

2. “It worked yesterday.”

and the best one

    Hi,
Great indeed, but what I like most is the excuse of Programmers for not delevering software on time.

    One of my favorites:

1- We did’t see that case (of course thay did, but as they were short timed they ignored it to respect the dead line).

2- We didn’t test it on Windows 98/Me, who use it nowadays, even Microsoft don’t support it anymore (the Pb is that 20% of custumers still use it !!)

3- It is too late, you should have ask for it before, we are in gold certification

4- In your specifications it was written this, and we did exactly what is wrtittent (even if it is stupid !).

5- Sorry, we were waiting for your answer, and as you did’t answer quickly enough we had to decide (2h is enough).

And the best one: “We were waiting for your specifications, if you don’t send us them in the next few hours the product will be delay, and it will be YOUR fault !”
